Getting Started...

We were a little late getting started, but a few days ago we finally decided on a game idea and began work. The basic genre I'd put it in would be a top down physics puzzle game, but I'm not sure that entirely describes the idea.

The objective is to get projectiles launched from a single point to checkpoints placed around the level. You can place things around the level to help, and there are obstacles that will destroy the projectiles or send them off course.

There isn't anything playable yet, but I've made some progress on some of the art and overall style the game will have.

Some of the states of the checkpoints.

A "gravity well" used to effect the path of a projectile.

A wall used to redirect projectiles away from
obstacles and towards checkpoints.

One of the projectile launchers

A mock up of what a possible level could look like.

So that's where we're at right now.

Some things that we need to work on are more ways to effect the path of the ball directly, and maybe more accurately. It's hard to tell with nothing really playable, but it won't be long until we have something crude to play. While +Rory Bourdon catches up on coding I'll probably start getting menus made and organized.

Any feedback or ideas would be much appreciated!
